Charlotte Fairclough is an author and illustrator from Lancashire who is currently based in Cambridge, UK. After completing a BA in English and Art History at the University of York, she spent the next ten years working as a primary school teacher in London. Instilling a love of books and creativity in her students led Charlotte to remember her own childhood dream of being an author and illustrator. She decided to take the plunge, enrolling on the Cambridge School of Art’s Children’s Book Illustration MA and graduating with a Distinction in 2026. Over the last few years, Charlotte has rediscovered her appetite for storytelling and enjoys the challenge that comes with telling a tale in the most creative way possible, using both words and images. Her stories can often be spooky, mischievous, dark, but full of humour. Visually, Charlotte enjoys playing with light, tone and atmosphere, particularly using printmaking and inks.
