Geoff Bird entered the world of radio after working as a salesman, a teacher and a bookseller. He has spent over twenty years as a producer and occasional presenter on around 150 documentaries and live shows on a huge variety of topics ranging from exorcism and cancer trials to hulahoops and bog bodies. In recent years, he’s also produced numerous podcasts, including ‘The Island of Brilliant’, which champions children’s writers and is presented by Nadia Shireen and Frank Cottrell Boyce. Geoff co-edited the small press poetry and short-story magazine ‘The Rue Bella’ with his brother and has, for many years, been an off-and-on musician playing in a number of bands, most recently with his three daughters. He lives in a northern town and in his spare time can usually be found watching films, reading books and digging holes in the ground.
