Takako Copeland is a Japanese illustrator and printmaker based in London. She grew up in the countryside, where the changing seasons and the vibrant natural world made a lasting impression on how she sees and uses colour. She has been drawing since she could first hold a pencil, and visual storytelling has always been a way to express herself.

She studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins, where over time her practice shifted towards illustration and printmaking. Takako’s work often centres on everyday, heartwarming moments, home, and community connections. She is interested in stories rooted in ESEA heritage and life in London, especially the rich cultural traditions that surround food and family.

Outside of the studio, Takako enjoys tabling at illustration fairs and supplying her printed goods to independent stores all around the world.
